This interactive story based on events in the life of Dale Chihuly guides children through ten creative activities. A few projects include Marshmallow Madness, Color Compounded, and Itty Bitty Ice Wall—we'll leave the activity to your imagination! Easy tear-out blank sheets provide the ability to remove your artwork and preserve the story and instructions to be used again. Chihuly Workshop was established to celebrate the innovation, imagination, and the bold creative spirit of the artist Dale Chihuly. Opened in 1992 as Portland Press, a small publishing company dedicated to the production of books about glassmaking, it slowly evolved into a place that not only published work about Chihuly’s art, but also became a staging ground for him as an artist and designer with the creation of his Studio Editions and prints. Over the years they have extended the scope of the Workshop, collaborating with Chihuly on a range of projects from books, films, and stationery to limited edition blankets with Pendleton Woolen Mills. It’s the Workshop’s mission to foster an environment where they are continuously engaged in projects that move beyond the expected and into areas where exploration and experimentation are the standard.
